Privacy in plain language
Lyonl Search operates a search index, crawler, query API, and account features. We use data to answer searches, defend the service from abuse, improve ranking quality, and run optional account or submission workflows. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your searches to build third-party advertising profiles.
Our baseline:collect the least information we need to run a reliable search engine, keep access limited, and avoid using search activity for cross-site tracking.
Information we process when you search
When you submit a search, Lyonl may process the query text, selected language, vertical, safe-search setting, time filters, page number, request time, response status, latency, result count, and coarse technical information needed to protect the service.
We use this information to return results, diagnose outages, measure search quality, detect automated abuse, and improve the index. We do not attach search queries to a public profile or sell them to data brokers.
Accounts, sign in, and anti-abuse checks
If you create an account or sign in, we process the information needed for that account flow, such as email address, session state, authentication events, and security metadata. Account pages are only intended to show account-center controls after a valid signed-in session exists.
Some forms use Cloudflare Turnstile or a similar anti-abuse check. The challenge provider may receive technical signals needed to verify that a submission is legitimate. We use that result to protect signup, feedback, and URL submission endpoints.
Feedback, URL submissions, and support
If you send feedback, submit a URL for crawling, or contact us, we process the content you provide and any contact information you include so we can respond, investigate, or improve the service. Do not submit secrets, passwords, or private data through public feedback or URL submission forms.
Crawling and indexed public content
Lyonl crawls publicly accessible web pages to build search results. Public pages may contain names, quotes, images, or other information published by third parties. We use robots.txt, crawler policy controls, and removal workflows to help site owners manage how LyonlBot accesses their sites.
Search results may link to third-party pages. Those pages are controlled by their own operators and are subject to their own privacy practices.
Cookies, local settings, and browser storage
We use cookies or browser storage for essential functions such as sessions, theme, language, safe-search preferences, recent local typeahead entries, and security checks. Local typeahead history is stored in your browser and can be cleared by clearing site data for lyonl.com.
How we share information
We share information only when needed to operate Lyonl, protect users and the service, comply with law, complete a user-requested workflow, or work with service providers under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
- Infrastructure providers may process logs, requests, and security events so the service can run.
- Security and anti-abuse providers may process challenge or risk signals for protected forms.
- We may disclose information if legally required or to respond to abuse, fraud, or threats to the service.
